Growing up on a farm I was surrounded by animals. I received my first 'dog' teddy bear as a toddler. I've since misplaced that stuffed animal, but I've never lost my love of all pets - dogs especially. Living on a farm taught me that every animal deserves the highest level of care and that all animals deserve love.
Since leaving PEI and moving to Ottawa, I've become heavily involved with a local dog rescue: Sit With Me Shelter Dog Rescue: I've fostered, volunteered in many capacities and currently sit on several committees as the Volunteer Coordinator. I'm passionate about educating potential adopters about what it means to be a responsible dog owner. I've extensive animal experience, from birds to fish to cats, dogs, horses, cows, sheep and many others. I love them all.
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Prince Edward Island and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Ottawa. Even after all that, nothing brings me more joy or satisfaction than working with animals. And while my studies didn’t lead me to my career path, I am grateful to be able to use them in my role as Manager with Dayna’s Pet Sitting.
When I'm not caring for clients' pets as though they were my own, I'm at home with my own two pups, Remi and Nigel. I can be found with a good book in my hand, snuggled up with my boys, a cup of coffee nearby.
